Wishlists for your occasion

Your birthday wishlist: collect, organize and share gift ideas

When friends and family ask for gift ideas, an up-to-date list is easier than a string of separate messages. Collect wishes for your own birthday or manage a list for your child as a parent.

01Create a birthday list you can use again next year

Give the list a clear name and choose the birthday occasion. A yearly recurring date helps you keep track of the next birthday. Review the wishes before sharing again: a recurring list does not update its contents automatically.

  • Set the relevant date and enable yearly recurrence if you want it.
  • Remove outdated ideas before the next birthday.
  • Check any expiry setting if you plan to keep the list for longer.

02Describe wishes so other people can choose the right item

A product link makes an item easier to find. When a shop provides suitable details, WishCache can import its name, image and price. Add missing information manually and check variants and current prices on the shop page.

  • Include the size, color or particular edition of a book.
  • Use priority stars to highlight your most important wishes.
  • Include smaller and larger ideas without expecting a particular gift.

03Collect children’s wishes together and choose access carefully

Parents can manage a birthday list in their own account. A Family & Friends list lets invited relatives contribute their own items. If people only need to view the wishes, a shared link is enough; a password adds another access requirement.

  • Avoid unnecessary personal information about the child in names and descriptions.
  • Send the link and any password only to the intended people.
  • Coordinate separately among gift-givers about who will buy which gift.

Before sending your birthday wishlist

  • Are the date and recurrence set correctly?
  • Are sizes, variants and priorities still right?
  • Is the intended sharing option enabled?
  • Open the link in a private browser window to check what visitors see.
